Toyota has introduced the Pixis Space in Japan to regain domestic sales as demand shifts toward smaller vehicles.

The Pixis Space is based on the Move Conte, which is supplied by Daihatsu subsidiary under a minivehicle OEM agreement reached in September 2010.

Pricing for the Pixi Space starts at 1.12 million yen (US$14,700) for the base model and has a fuel economy of 25.5 km per liter. The model will be assembled at Daihatsu’s factory in Kyushu, southwest Japan.
