The concept is a two-seat, rear-wheel drive coupe with a hybrid drivetrain and and offers perfect 50:50 weight distribution. The compact has a wheelbase of 2,622 mm, making it the smallest Jaguar has built since the 1950s.
The C-X16 is equipped by a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 380 hp and 450 Nm of torque linked to an 8-speed gearbox with an integrated motor generator. The electric motor is got a function called ‘Push to Pass’ which is activated by a button on the steering wheel and is able to provide an additional 95 hp and 235 Nm of torque.
The C-X16 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 300 km/h. Besides, the C-X16 is also able to travel at speeds of up to 88 km/h under electric power alone. CO2 emissions are 165 g/km.
The production model will likely go on sale in late 2012 at a price of £55,000.
