The Q3 is Audi’s third SUV model after the larger Q5 and Q7 and will compete against the BMW X1. The Q3 was developed based on the platform architecture of the Volkswagen Tiguan. Audi’s interpretation of a compact SUV model measures 4.39 meters in length, 1.83 meters in width, and 1.60 meters in height with the roof rails, thus it is 240 mm shorter, 50 mm narrower and 53 mm lower than the Q5.

Inside, Audi Q3 features your typical high-quality Audi interior with a clean lines and 5 seats. The luggage compartment offers a basic capacity of 460-liters, but it can swell to a volume of 1,365 liters with the split rear seat backrests folded down. There are numerous standard and optional features including an ambient lighting package with a bevy of LEDs, an on-board computer with efficiency program, a storage package, a panoramic glass roof, sports seats and a three-spoke leather steering wheel in a new Q-specific look.
Technically, the Q3 with four different engine options, two petrol engine and a diesel engine introduced when the car launched and a other diesel engine introduce a later time. All four engines are 2-liter 4-cylinder engine and the application of direct fuel injection technology, turbo compressors, Start-Stop and waste energy recovery.
The 2.0 TFSI will be offered in two states of tune, capacity of 170 hp and 211 hp. With 211 hp, The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 230 km/ h.
The 2.0 TDI will be available with 177 hp and later on, with 140 hp. The 140 hp version will allow the Q3 to return a combined fuel economy of less than 5.2 liters per 100 kilometers.
The versions include TFSI 170 hp,TFSI 211 hp and TDI 177 hp will be supplied with quattro permanent all-wheel drive, while the TDI 140 hp version is equipped with front-wheel drive. The Q3 has two gearbox options: a standard six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Audi Q3 will be officially unveiled at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show a few next days. The Q3 will go on sale in June with a base price in Germany of € 29,900 (equal to $ 43,300 at today’s exchange rates). Audi has not yet confirmed U.S. availability.
